Are you the next NetDirector team member? We’d love to hear from you!

NetDirector is an innovative technology company that provides services in the high growth healthcare and mortgage banking industries.  We offer a cost-effective cloud-based data exchange that enables our participants/clients the flexibility to connect, transmit, transform, and route data from disparate systems.

Currently Hiring:

Director of Technology

This is a hands-on leadership role for a highly technical, people-centered individual who can bridge deep engineering expertise with oversight of security and compliance. You’ll guide a small but mighty team of software engineers and compliance professionals, ensuring our platform is scalable, secure, and continuously improving.

We’re a lean team that works hard — but we also believe in working to live, not the other way around. If you’re a technical leader who thrives in both the codebase and management meetings, this role might be for you.  You’ll shift comfortably between mentoring a developer in the morning and assisting our mortgage and healthcare operations teams in the afternoon. This role is a combination of production, planning, and people management. You’ll help shape our long-term strategy while keeping our systems stable, secure, and responsive on a daily basis.

Job Title: Director of Technology

Job Location: Tampa

Job Type: Hybrid (onsite work required)

Job Classification: Full-Time Exempt

The Job.

What you will do in this position:

  • Lead the engineering team — from hands-on support to high-level architecture. You’ll guide our small team of developers, troubleshoot complex issues, and help build secure, scalable solutions for our core platform.

  • Oversee security and compliance — with clarity and context. You’ll help the team meet standards such as HIPAA and SOC 2, while keeping systems nimble and business-focused.

  • Bridge the tactical and strategic. You’ll balance immediate needs with longer-term goals, helping ensure today’s decisions support where we want to go next.

  • Design and implement technical guardrails. You’ll create and maintain smart development processes — from software development lifecycle (SDLC) to system monitoring — that make sustainable growth possible.

  • Champion cross-functional collaboration. You’ll work across teams — product, operations, client success, leadership — to align priorities and address security needs early and effectively.

  • Act as an escalation point when things go sideways. You’ll step in quickly, lead issue resolution, and ensure we learn from incidents to prevent them in the future.

  • Support audit readiness and client due diligence. You’ll partner with compliance to maintain accurate documentation and help our systems withstand scrutiny.

  • Foster a culture of growth and accountability. You’ll mentor, model clean coding practices, and help your team grow with clear expectations and real support.

  • Stay ahead of security trends. You’ll proactively adapt our practices to evolving risks — keeping our clients, data, and systems protected.

  • Coach and grow talent. You’ll get the most from the team by developing an understanding of their strengths — knowing when to push, when to support, and when to lean in to help.

Qualifications.

Who you are:

  • Technically strong. You bring deep experience in Java-based systems and distributed architecture — and you’re still comfortable reading (and writing) production code.

  • Educated and experienced. You hold a degree in software engineering, computer science, or a related field — or have built equivalent expertise through hands-on experience.

  • Strategic and hands-on. You move fluidly between code reviews and weekly management meetings, bridging technical depth with big-picture planning.

  • Detail-oriented and compliance-aware. You understand how secure, compliant systems are built — and how to navigate frameworks like HIPAA and SOC 2 without slowing progress.

  • A coach’s coach. You build strong relationships, communicate clearly, and know how to support both junior and senior team members.

  • A leader who builds leaders. You elevate the people around you — helping others find clarity, confidence, and growth.

  • Comfortable in a lean, hybrid environment. You’re resourceful, flexible, and accountable — and thrive in a setting where you wear a few hats but always feel the impact.

Bonus Points.

It will definitely help:

  • Experience with enterprise technology components such as Java, Oracle, MariaDB, JBoss, Linux, VMWare.

  • Background in compliance operations or security engineering

  • Track record of scaling systems and teams without adding unnecessary complexity

  • Passion for solving complex problems and enabling others to succeed

  • Prior experience in a highly regulated industry such as Healthcare IT or FinTech
